CNC Drawing

April 3, 2009

Justin has been undertaking some tests into the different marks that are achievable when using a CNC router as a drawing machine. Using a variety media and adaptations to existing tool holders, he has started to build up a vocabulary of marks and effects. CNC drawings produced by other cluster members can be seen in earlier posts.

We are intend pursuing this area of research and are excited by the possibilities of marrying a level of image complexity, associated with the capabilities of digital technologies, with the robust simplicity of common mark making tools (e.g. pencils, marker pens, scribes etc.)
